SAXOPHONE TUITION
and/or
CREATIVE IMPROVISATION AND PERFORMANCE TUITION

I am interested in an individualistic approach to forging sound and improvisation - What is your saxophone sound? What does your improvisation sound like? I have explored and developed techniques to ignite creativity and enhance musicians interested in expressive, authentic and imaginative playing.

I can devise bespoke lessons to incorporate specific needs, and use my experience to guide students into new directions.

I have helped instrumentalists and vocalists with: grade exams, University/Conservatoire auditions, free-improvisation/instant composition, musicianship and communication, jazz harmony and theory, extended techniques, depth concepts, alternative stimuli and contemporary notation, plus individual performance projects.

I have over 15 years experience working creatively with young musicians in an ensemble setting. For the past few years I have been using these methods in 1:2:1 lessons - to sit alongside traditional tuition or be a focused direction. Please head to my website to read student testimonials and a further insight into my 1:2:1 teaching approach.

Alongside Private Tuition I currently teach at Exeter College Music Academy, Plymouth University and for South West Music School. I have experience teaching Trinity/Guildhall, ABRSM and LCM grade exams and diplomas.
