Notes:

I am a pianist with international performing experience, working primarily as a solo recitalist. I amq currently a senior lecturer in music at Queen's University Belfast where I manage a suite of music degrees, including the BA in Music Performance. I have maintained a piano teaching practice with my wife Anita since 1999. From 2000-2006 I taught piano in Belfast schools and also the City of Belfast School of Music. I was also a piano tutor in the university during 1999-2006 when I took up a position as lecturer.

I moved to Helen's Bay in 2013 and have continued teaching privately, working with a very broad spectrum of students, from age four upwards. I have a particular interest in teaching performance at professional standard (higher diplomas). My teaching is driven by a deep understanding of pianistic technique and I have found that this enables me to teach beginners in a highly effective manner.

I have received awards for my teaching and numerous of my pupils have gone on to receive many accolades, such as performance prizes and successful audition to Oxford, Eton and the London Music Colleges.
