I took up music when I was 16. I had moved school in order to do A levels and met someone who played guitar. It was originally just a hobby, I had borrowed my auntie's guitar that had been lying around her house since she got it some 20 odd years ago. After a few months I then got an electric guitar for christmas, (quite the cliche) anyway six months after that I started taking classical guitar lessons, which I took up to grade 5.

After playing electric guitar for two years, I applied for the National Diploma in Music taught at NDAI in Bangor, Northern Ireland (now SERC). Two years later I passed that and applied for the BMus in Newcastle Upon Tyne. My guitar teacher at the time had went there and said it was good so my decision was made. Fortunately, I got accepted and three years later I graduated with Honours, with a major in composition.

In the september after graduating (2010) I started to teach at Newcastle College on the HE Access course, which involved a number of tasks:

Running the Ensembles
Running sight-reading workshops
Taking the guitar lessons
Teaching the music theory lessons
Conducting the Christmas musical and generally helping out.

There, finally, there is my musical life on paper summarised greatly to keep the readers of this awake. Cheers.
