Notes:

I have been playing drums for over thirty years. I am familiar with a wide variety of styles, including rock, blues, post-punk, jazz, rhythm and blues, reggae, ska, funk, soca, calypso, salsa and samba.

I have been teaching drums and percussion since 2001, and from 2006 to 2013 worked at Trafford College of Further Education as an instrumental tutor.

I have taken lessons with Dave Hassell, one of the most highly rated tutors in the country, and this has informed and shaped my own approach to teaching. My emphasis is on a music-led approach, learning to do the simple things well, and taking on board the importance of listening and communication.

Lessons take place in a rehearsal/practice space in Brunswick Mill in Ancoats, just outside Central Manchester, 10 minutes walk from Piccadilly Station, or two minutes from New Islington metro station. Free parking also available (although limited weekday evenings).
