After gaining diplomas in performance and teaching from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Lucinda developed a career for many years performing both as a soloist and chorister with most of the leading, London-based professional choirs and consorts, principal among them being The Monteverdi Choir under the direction of Sir John Eliot Gardiner and Harry Christophers’ vocal ensemble, The Sixteen. During this time she acquired a Music degree, her baritone husband, Stephen Charlesworth, produced four children now all in their twenties, one of whom is the baritone and bassoonist Sebastian Charlesworth – and was lucky enough to travel extensively and to perform in some of the most celebrated venues in the world!

In addition to being Canto's principal singing teacher, Lucinda is also singing tutor at Sussex University and holds permanent teaching posts at Worth School and at The East Sussex Academy of Music.

She also performs regularly as a soloist for a great variety of choirs and choral societies, coaches choirs and ensembles in choral vocal technique and is the principal soprano soloist at Europe’s tallest parish church, St Bartholomew’s in Brighton.
