Notes:

I was heavily inspired by my piano teacher growing up. I looked forward to my lessons each week, and as a result music has become my life. It's this passion for music, for performance and creativity that I'd love to pass on to my students.

I began studying towards becoming a concert pianist before deciding to switch to more contemporary music, working as a session musician for various major label artists including Mika. I also have a publishing deal composing pieces of music for films, commercials and video games, alongside other music production work and teaching.

Being a well-rounded musician and versed in both classical and contemporary music, I feel I have strong insight into what it takes to be a musician. It's not purely about technical ability, but musicality and creativity. I'm very keen to teach a combination of technique, but also theory, harmony and ear training as part of my teaching style. This is with a view to equipping students to have the tools to have a long career in music whether it be as a soloist or playing with others in a classical ensemble or rock band. Or if you simply want to learn for yourself, then I'll equip you to be able to enjoy the music you want to play.

What marks me as slightly different to other teachers is that I teach out of my home-based professional recording studio and integrate technology into my lessons. Whether that is demonstrating rhythms via drum software for the more visual learners, or recording audio/video of a students performance to analyse and give feedback. I find the combination of technology and traditional teaching techniques means I'm able to cater for a wider range of learning styles.
