Notes:
- I have been teaching cello and piano for over seven years and teach students of all ages, including adults, from absolute beginner to advanced level.
- As well as teaching grades I am keen to include areas beyond the standard classical route and encourage students to explore improvisation, composition, and playing in all styles including pop and jazz.
- Lessons tailored to the pace and style of music you find most comfortable working with. You'll be introduced to as wide a range of musical influences as possible and develop a broad appreciation of music beyond simply learning an instrument.
- Innovative and creative learning techniques
- Adult resumers and beginners particularly welcome - I can fit around your working hours.
- Flexible and able to travel to you at no extra cost.
- I provide my own beginners' music free of charge to new students so you can get playing right from the first lesson!
- I am also able to assist you with advice on purchasing instruments.
- Lessons can be held at your residence or mine, and I can usually be flexible with times. At home I teach piano on a professional-level Yamaha stage piano with weighted keys and top-level sounds as well as accurate pedalling software.
- I have taken the MU/EduCare safeguarding course and have PLI insurance through the Union.
I have extensive experience as an accompanist both for exams and performances and also in musical theatre productions. As well as teaching and accompanying, I also play both my instruments in a function/party band, an independent acoustic band and as an orchestral and choral conductor.
