Biography

Joseph G. Perkins is a London based session guitarist/bassist and postgraduate from City University of London and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, BMus(Hons), M.A. Joseph performs upstairs at Ronnie Scott's (residency), Vortex Jazz Club, The Jazz Café, Village Underground, The Royal Albert Hall Verdi, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Milton Court (Barbican), The Royal Academy of Art, Le Quecumbar (house band), The House of Lords, BBC Radio, JazzFM and for members of the Royal Family. He has supported artists such as Terence Blanchard and session credits include The X Factor winner, James Arthur. He has studied the music of Django Reinhardt extensively, and can be heard in Jessica Swale's film, Summerland. He has also worked as a guest lecturer, teaching Jazz improvisation at City University of London.

Joseph is a widely experienced and established private music tutor (St. John's Wood, London), and has worked in the state sector as a peripatetic and classroom teacher/accompanist. He has previously worked with the ABRSM as a teacher/presenter and 'Brains & Hunch - Music For Moving Image'.

Joseph has studied with virtuoso guitarists, Scott Henderson and Wayne Krantz.
