Mr Adam Repa

I have received 5 A*s, 3 As and 2 Bs for GCSEs and 1 A*, 1 A, 1 B and 1 C for A-levels at the Perse School in Cambridge. I have just obtained a 2.1 at the University of York for BA Music (Hons). I also hold a distinction in Grade 8 piano and a merit for Grade 5 theory.
Instruments: I play the piano to a semi-professional standard, as well as the organ and the harpsichord to a proficient standard. I also sing a little bit at university with the University of York Choir.
Genre/Style(s): Classical
Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

Predominantly a performer, I have also been tutoring students the piano at York University for 3 years. I have won 2 music competitions: the Cambridge Competitive Music Festival (CCMF) in 2011 and the Mrs Sunderland Music Festival, this year. I have also accompanied fellow music students at university in all genres and instruments, ranging from the Renaissance to 21st century music and voices, wind, string and brass instruments. I have had experience teaching individuals ranging from complete beginners to Grade 8 standard. My view on teaching is about enabling the student to progress technically and musically whilst having fun in the process. My lessons are informal, but I do expect progress from my students. I would be more than happy to teach some music theory as well and to prepare the student for graded exams. I am based in Mottingham in south-east London and my standard rate is £25/hour.
