I am an experienced teacher of flute, and offer individual lessons to aspiring flute players of all ages, from beginner to post-graduate level.

Lessons are held in my music room at home, where there is a waiting area for parents, and easy parking.

I am Co-director of the Oxford Flute Summer School which has inspired my love of the flute - teaching, performing and learning from the many renowned flautists who have visited the Summer School over the past 35 years.

I encourage my pupils with an individualised and friendly approach, supporting them in their goals whether to become a professional flautist or to enjoy flute playing as a hobby. My work as a music therapist informs my stance as a teacher, and I work hard to enable pupils to play at their best, by finding their own motivation, and by exploring what moves or interests them in the music they play.

I accompany my own pupils and regularly use piano in lessons.

My own training as a flautist has been in classical music, and I have a strong interest in improvisation. I give regular recitals in Warwickshire and at the Oxford Flute Summer School, solo flute (or alto flute) and piano, or other combinations of chamber music with strings, oboe, horn, guitar or voice.

My own playing has been influenced by great 20th century flautists and teachers such as Marcel Moyse, Geoffrey Gilbert, William Bennett, Wissam Boustany, Robert Winn and Janet Way.
