Gennie is a freelance clarinettist and bass clarinettist, music teacher and workshop leader. She has performed at venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Kings Place, Scarborough Jazz Festival, the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, St John's Smith Square and Camp Bestival.

A passionate chamber musician, Gennie is the bass clarinettist in Engines Orchestra, who have recorded their debut album Lifecycles which was launched in November 2014 at the London Jazz Festival. Engines Orchestra have recently performed at venues including Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and the Scarborough Jazz Festival in 2015.

Gennie is also teaches music for Southwark Music Service, as well as being an Early Years Music Workshop Leader for Boppin' Bunnies and Stretto Music. She has also worked for a range of education projects including work with LSO On Track, London Philharmonic Orchestra FunHarmonics and Animate Orchestra, Thames Reach Youth Orchestra, Mint Street Music Festival, Creative Club at Stratford Arts Trust, Tea Dance for Little People, and Jumping Beans.
