Mrs Lesley Barford
Collette. Northamptonshire. 2016 Date: September 2016
Lesley has been an absolutely fantastic violin teacher for my 12 year old daughter. She very quickly identified my daughter's musical ability and enabled her to progress from complete beginner to working towards Grade 6 in only 2 and a half years, passing all the grades in between with Distinctions and Merits. Many of Lesley's other pupils had similar successes under her care. Lesley's style of teaching is kind, fun, positive and incredibly encouraging; she helped my daughter to get into the top County Groups for her age at Northamptonshire's Music and Performing Arts Trust and a local Secondary School which specialises in music, as well as attending concerts, to support her in both ventures. In addition, we went to an excellent Northampton Symphony Orchestra concert to see Lesley perform. We were very sad when Lesley told us she would be moving from our area; Northamptonshire's loss is Leicestershire's gain. When Lesley was planning her move, she found new, ideal teachers for all her pupils, specifically chosen to suit each student's ability and needs, which has meant the transition for my daughter to her new teacher has been smooth. Lesley also gave each pupil a personalised leaving gift, showing just how much she cares for them. I would thoroughly recommend Lesley to any violin pupils in her area, as her pupils's needs and progress are always her top priority.

Hi my name is Lucie and I'm 12, Mrs Barford was my former teacher and she was my inspiration. I'm currently doing my Grade 5 thanks to her. She helped me get a Distinction, 2 Merits and a Pass (I only got a pass because I decided to enter early). Mrs Barford has tonnes of experience and was the best teacher I've ever had.
