I graduated from Christ Church University College with a BA Hons Music in 2011, then completed my MA Songwriting with Bath Spa University College in 2014. I began learning the piano aged 8, and it became an important part of my life. I also play the Recorder, and Saxophone, and started vocal lessons aged 14. I have participated in many music concerts and performances on each instrument, as well as the standard examinations. I enjoy participating in as many music events as possible including local and church choirs, choral society and charity events. Teaching has always been an important aspect of my life, and I have had over 11 years experience of classroom and school music. Music and teaching are my passion, and I enjoy passing on my skill, knowledge and enthusiasm to pupils.

I have been teaching privately for 17 years with a range of ages and abilities. I am happy to teach simply for enjoyment, or to work towards examinations and performances. I have 100% pass rate for all pupils entered into examinations. I had a break from teaching due to raising a family, but I am now keen to increase the number of pupils I have.

My main aim is to ensure enjoyment in each lesson. This is important in both the early lessons, and during later progression to promote a desire to practice and improve. If the pupil is happy they have a desire to work hard and are more likely to achieve their goals. I work closely with each pupil to ensure individual needs are met and promote a friendly and approachable manner so that pupils feel confident and supported. I take pride in being adaptable for each student. I welcome individual needs and have experience with teaching SEN. I try to incorporate pupils' suggestions into lessons, whether it be suggested repertoire, or a teaching point. I am a believer in teaching theory alongside practical and will incorporate this where possible. I prefer to teach from home, but am happy to travel for an extra fee. Lessons are £15.00 per half an hour, £30.00 per hour
