Biography

In 2010 I began my current teaching practice which has gently grown while teaching primarily from home.
I teach a wide variety of styles from folk and pop to classical and fingerpicking. I also give lessons in songwriting skills, music theory and aural training.
I like to accomodate pupil's preferences using the internet and my own library of music and can work out tunes for pupils to play.
I teach up to Grade 8 classical guitar and have an extensive knowledge of Latin American classical and Spanish classical guitar music.
I also teach jazz and blues and fingerpicking and some 'world styles'.
My pupils are beginners to advanced with an age range from 6 years old to around 70.

I began teaching whilst at college studying for my degree in Music. After completing the degree I went on to work in South London as a peripatetic guitar teacher in primary schools and in adult evening classes. When I moved Norwich I taught privately and at City College for some years before going into performing.
I continue to work as a solo musician and in a jazz band and an Eastern European based band playing locally and nationally. I also write and arrange music.
