Barbara Young GRSM (Royal Academy), ARCM, MTC, ANATD Hons is an internationally renowned musician and teacher, who specialises in introducing children to music and theatre. Barbara has been teaching and performing since 1972, and has featured in the Times and on the BBC. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, she held the post of Head of Woodwind for schools in the London Borough of Hounslow, and perfomed recitals at national venues such as the Purcell Room on London's South Bank. In 1987 she pioneered the Music and Song early childhood music project, and lectured widely on the beneficial effect of music on babies and young children. Barbara established the Young Academy in 1999 and continues to inspire students to develop a love of music and the arts.
