Hi! I'm Jack, a performer and composer in Manchester specialising in clarinet and saxophone. When I'm not teaching I work for the Hallé orchestra's education and community programmes. In 2015 I graduated from the University of Manchester with a first class honours degree in Music and performed several UK premieres during my time there as well as my own compositions. I also teach music theory for the ABRSM syllabus.

When I perform music, I go out and enjoy myself and try to share that energy and passion with my audience. My teaching is no different; I believe the best way to learn music is to enjoy it.
I work with everyone uniquely and tailor lessons to what the student enjoys most, while still striving to develop their playing to the best it can be. I find it useful to have a goal that both sides feel is realistic yet challenging, whether that is a graded exam or a live performance of their favourite nursery rhyme for parents.

I mainly teach clarinet and saxophone, though also teach composition and music theory. I also have experience with the orchestral doubles (Eb/Bass clarinets) and SATB saxophones in jazz and pop styles. Music theory will be based on the ABRSM exam syllabuses.
