My name is Shirley Barningham, I come from Manchester, but am now based in Doncaster. I am passionate about music and enjoy teaching, as it gives me the opportunity to pass my skills on to others. Apart from my teaching, I try to play regularly myself, and at the moment I am principle flute with the Hallgate Chamber Orchestra, and I give occasional solo recitals in the lunchtime series of concerts at Doncaster Museum. I was recently the soloist in a performance of Mozartís G Major Flute Concerto, Bach's Suite in B Minor, and Telemann's Suite in A Minor ( Treble recorder ) with the Danum String Orchestra, and have played with the Boyce Orchestra, The Doncaster Concert Band (as principle clarinet), The Sheffield Symphony Orchestra, The Haffner Orchestra and The Gorton Philharmonic Orchestra. Apart from music, I am interested in languages, and am studying German at the moment.
