Biography

Stephen started learning violin at the age of 7, with Claire Clarkson. At the age of 11 Stephen gained a Music Scholarship to study at Aldridge School, where he studied with Gary Doidge. From the age of 7 He started working his way through the ranks of Sandwell Youth Music, which culminated in a four-year spell in The Sandwell Youth Orchestra where he was a section principal. He has been on numerous tours of Germany and France playing such works as “Creation” by Haydn and “Mass in G” by Schubert. Stephen has played in such prestigious venues as Symphony Hall and Town Hall, Birmingham.
In 2011 he started his studies at Birmingham Conservatoire where he started Viola (on the Suggestion of Robin Ireland) and now plays viola in many chamber ensembles. Stephen is regularly requested to play in local productions of musicals such as “The Phantom of the Opera” and “Les Miserbles”.
