Notes:

Born and bred in Cornwall, Glen started to develop an interest in brass banding, particularly the cornet turning after his great Grandfather Richard Heigh. Glen has been playing the cornet for 15 years, starting at the early age of 6 under the tuition of welsh cornet virtuoso Wayne McCarthy. A strong foundation to Glens playing career began with many solo and quartet competitions throughout the counties of Cornwall and Devon, winning over 140 awards. Substantial solo achievements have been Cornwall’s Open Slow Melody Champion 2001 and winning Cornwall’s Concerto Championships in 2006 performing the Denis Wright’s Cornet Concerto alongside the St Austell Band under the direction of Russell Grey. 2002 seen Glen record his first solo CD album. Glen is about to embark upon his 4th year as a music student at The Royal Welsh College of Music, Cardiff where he also performs as Principle cornet of the Cwmaman Institute Silver Band.
