I am a drummer, pianist, composer and Alexander Technique teacher. I studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Middlesex University. Since the age of 14 I have been performing in the UK and Europe at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Jazz Cafe and 606 Jazz Club and have recorded at Abbey Road and Sawmills studios. I have been teaching for over 10 years. Since qualifying as an Alexander Technique (AT) teacher in 2009 I have continued my professional development by studying with Nelly Ben-Or, international concert pianist and the leading exponent of the application of the AT to piano playing. My experience as an AT teacher enables me to spot any problems with a pupil's posture and coordination at the instrument, facilitating greater ease of movement and the prevention of long term injuries such as tendonitis and lower back pain. It is therefore an integrated approach to learning an instrument. I also studied the Kodaly musicianship method to an advanced level and I have studied a wide range of styles from Jazz to Classical to West African. I aim to deliver lessons to suit the individuals' level and needs. I teach one-to-one at Studio 99 in Woolwich.
