Notes:

I studied piano and composition at St Mary's Music School in Edinburgh before reading undergraduate music at the University of York. As a pianist I've done a lot of accompanying, chamber music, solo recitals and I've won some competitions.

I have recently moved to Gateshead. Previously I was based in Glasgow where I undertook postgraduate research at the University of Glasgow. I'm also active as a conductor with a number of orchestras and groups, including Opera dei Lumi, an opera company I founded in 2014. I also work as a freelance music engraver for publishers, creating piano reduction scores of operas and such.

I've been teaching piano and theory to pupils of all ages since 2008. Teaching is something I enjoy doing, and I try to make my lessons enjoyable! I'm experienced at preparing pupils for both instrumental and theory grades as well as music assessments in school. If a pupil does not want to work through the graded exam process, I have a very thorough knowledge of piano repertoire (beginner to advanced), so will be able to find enjoyable pieces which will help pupils progress.

Piano lessons will preferably take place at the pupil's home.

Piano lessons are one-to-one only.
Theory lessons will be taught one-to-one, but groups of 2-4 pupils can be formed if this is suitable (for example, siblings or friends taking the exam at the same time).
