Miss Naomi Fearon

Currently studying an MA in Community Music at the University of York, I am passionate about allowing as many people as possible to have access to an education in music.
I have many years playing experience, as a solo, chamber and orchestral musician, and have been principal violas in several orchestras, notably including the University of Bristol Symphony Orchestra, playing such works as Shostakovich's 10th Symphony, Brahms' 3rd Symphony, and Holst's 'Planets' Suite.
Over the last few years, I have gained loads of experience in both classroom and 1:1 teaching, including performing and workshopping music with babies with Polly Ives' 'Concerteenies' series in Sheffield, tutoring junior and senior string groups at Sheffield Music School, and teaching English in a secondary school in France.
This year, I am continuing to teach privately, as well as leading a variety of workshops in schools across York with the university Music Education Group (MEG). With this group, I will also be initiating a song-writing series in a local old people's home, collaborating with a group of primary school children.

As well as building up a portfolio of work experience, I have also been performing this year with the Hallam Sinfonia, Sheffield Philharmonic, and Sheffield Symphony Orchestras.
