Instruments: Violin and Music Theory
Ability Levels: Beginners to Advanced

I am a Swiss/Canadian Dulwich based professional violinist and teacher with a Master of Arts in Performance and a Master of Arts in Musical Pedagogy from the Geneva Conservatoire. I teach all levels, from beginners to advanced students. My teaching method consists of combining various schools/methods to find the perfect one for you. The lessons are on a one-to-one basis, and are tailor-made to suit each and every studentís needs.
I aspire to develop in my students a solid technical foundation, and also the ability to use that foundation to create music.
Students must ultimately be able to know the specific sound, atmosphere, or phrasing that they want to create at a given moment, and then be able to produce it. I strive to develop their minds, and their ears, as well as their violinistic skills.

I am a graduate of the Yehudi Menuhin School, the Lausanne Conservatoire, the Geneva Conservatoire, and alumni of Southbank Sinfonia, and am currently enjoying an active freelance career as a chamber musician and orchestral player in London, regularly performing with ensembles such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, and Aurora Orchestra.

I have been teaching for twelve years, privately and in various music schools, conservatoires, and universities, including the junior department of the Geneva Conservatoire, the Technological University of Pereira, and the Lausanne International School. I have led many workshops in schools in and around London, but also in Switzerland, France, Italy, Wales, the Channel Islands, the United States, Colombia, and Panama.

I have recently set my teaching studio up in Dulwich, but will happily travel to studentsí homes, providing that they are reasonably close by.

I have a valid DBS check and am familiar and experienced with the ABRSM grading system. My fee is £40 per hour and lessons may take place in English or in French
