Students of all ages and abilities are welcome, under normal circumstances, to take piano lessons taught at my home studio in Kirkcaldy. However, due to the present extraordinary situation, Iím now teaching exclusively online.
Some of my students are school children, all of whom recently passed Trinity or Associated Board practical exams. Others include adults who work, or have retired and want to brush up on their piano skills purely for enjoyment.
As an independent music professional, I regularly work as a musical director in theatres around Scotland, for example, I was the musical director for the five-star run of Beauty and the Beast at Perth Concert Hall. I'm the musical director of the recently formed NHS Fife staff choir. I enjoy performing a broad range of musical genres: classical, popular and Scottish traditional.
My work with young people includes being the accompanist for the Fair City Singers, and I also play for ballet classes and exams. I am a member of the PVG scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups, formerly Disclosure Scotland).
My aim as a teacher is to bring that professional experience to the learning environment.
