Classical pianist/Piano Teacher
After university I continued my piano studies and have performed a variety of challenging piano pieces including Lisztís Transcendental Study No.10 and Ravelís Jeux díeau as well as works by Chopin, Debussy, Godowsky, Prokofiev and many others. I have also had the opportunity to accompany a wide range of singers and instrumentalists.
I have my own piano teaching practise with approximately 15 pupils of varying ages and abilities and also teach in 2 leading independent schools.
I regularly enter pupils for Associated Board examinations as part of a balanced curriculum and to date they have all passed, achieving an average of 121 marks out of a possible 150. I also prepare pupils for school concerts and at the most recent one there was a performance by 4 pupils at 2 pianos as well as a jazz quartet featuring members aged between 8 and 13.

Jazz pianist
I have played in small band settings with some of Britain's leading jazz musicians including Alan Skidmore (1984/1985/1992). I have performed for Southampton Jazz Society on many occasions as well as providing foyer music with my own trio at the Royal National Theatre and Royal Festival Hall in London. I have appeared as a solo pianist in the Café Royal in Piccadilly in Londonís West End as well as playing piano in a number of big bands.
In view of my jazz abilities and classical music education I am happy to teach the Associated Board jazz syllabus.
