Due to the current crisis I have now moved all my lessons online, and am teaching over Skype, Zoom and FaceTime. Please get in contact for more information or if you would like to book in a session.
I am a very experienced and knowledgeable musician. Outside of teaching, I perform on a regular basis, a mixture of contemporary and classical piano music, as well as being a singer/songwriter and performing at gigs.
I am a classically trained pianist to Grade 8, with a degree in Music performance and Composition. I studied at Dartington College of Arts, focusing on more contemporary styles.
I am a very easy going person, and enjoy teaching. I believe my lessons are fun and that my students benefit from my teaching styles.
For the past 5 years I have been privately teaching students in their own homes. I currently have a number of students who have been with me for over 3 years, and I am quickly building on my business. I teach all ages, but have most experience with kids from ages 6 to 16. I have taken many of my students through exams, but do not put pressure on them to do this. I teach mainly ABRSM and Trinity syllabuses, in both Classical and Jazz.
Everyone one is different. We all learn in different ways, and have many different musical interests, and so I tailor my lessons to suit my students, so they enjoy what they are learning, and are doing what suits them best. I teach all styles of piano, from classical to jazz. As well as techniques in vocal practice. I can also combine piano and vocal lessons, as well as teach skills in performing, composing and musical theory. I also offer tutoring in GCSE and A level music. In my first lesson, I will establish the abilities and needs of my student, so we can make a plan of what to do in each lesson.
