Biography

Lottie is an experienced performer both as a singer and instrumentalist, with over fifteen years' experience teaching singing, violin, viola, piano and music theory.

As a singer Lottie has performed internationally as a opera and concert soloist and also as a choral singer. Operatic credits include principal roles with Westminster Opera, Rocket Opera, OperaZone, the Empyrean Ensemble, the New London Opera Players and at Buxton Opera House. Concert engagements include solo performances with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightemnent, Milton Keynes Sinfonia, Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus (Australia), INO Mixed Chorus (Japan), St Ives Choral Society, Wetherby Choral Society, East Malling Singers and the Oktoberfest Chorus and Orchestra, as well as solo performances at the O2 and Liverpool Echo Arenas. As a choral singer she performs with a number of professional groups including Gaude, Luminatus and is Director of Music with the Choir of St Magnus-the-Martyr, London Bridge. She is an experienced recording artist both as a soloist and choral singer. Lottie has an MMus with Distinction in Choral Studies from Jesus College, Cambridge and an MA in Music from Christ's College, Cambridge. She has also completed a CPPD in Acting from Thames Valley University and the Opera Course at the Associated Studios, Hammersmith. She achieved Grade VIII Singing with Distinction at the age of 15.

As a violinist Lottie has also performed internationally, embarking on a solo tour of Germany and Poland at the age of 16. Concerto experience includes appearances with orchestras in Cambridge, High Wycombe and Beaconsfield. As an orchestral violinist and viola player she has played with the Thame Chamber Orchestra, the Slough Philharmonic, the Chiltern Camerata, the Bedford Symphony Orchestra and the Bedford Sinfonia as well as orchestras in Cambridge and South Buckinghamshire. For several years she was leader of the Isambard String Quartet. Lottie also plays Hardanger Fiddle. She is an experienced session string player and has appeared on numerous commercial recordings as a violinist and Hardanger Fiddle player. Lottie achieved Grade VIII Violin with Distinction at the age of 13.

As a pianist Lottie has over fifteen years' experience as a professional accompanist, working with instrumentalists and singers of all abilities, from beginners to professionals. She also works as an opera repetiteur and has extensive experience playing keyboards in pit bands for operas and musicals. As a soloist Lottie has made piano concerto appearances with orchestras in South Buckinghamshire and was resident pianist at the Stoke Park Club Hotel for a number of years. She achieved a first-class grade for her Advanced Keyboard Skills module of her music degree and has also performed professionally as a harpsichordist and organist. Lottie achieved Grade VIII Piano with Distinction at the age of 16.

Lottie is a keen self-taught harpist and recently enjoyed a solo harp performance at the Wild Voice Festival. She plays harp and sings with Bedford-based band Panos and the Toad, and previously played harp with Irish band Inis Eire.

Lottie teaches Singing at Bedford School and Piano and Violin at Pilgrims Pre-Preparatory School. In addition, she works as a theory examiner for Trinity College London.
