Jamie Holroyd is a guitarist, educator and author based in the North of England. Jamie gives performances around the UK, and offers private guitar lessons in person and via Skype. Due to graduate next year with a BA in Jazz from the prestigious Leeds College of Music, he has had lessons with some of the finest musicians on the British Jazz scene and privately studied with acclaimed guitarists such as Jiannis Pavlidis, Pete Sklaroff, and Jamie Taylor amongst others.<br />

An avid teacher himself, Jamie’s main focus is demystifying the guitar and meeting the student at their level, breaking down the complex aspects into digestible chunks, and focusing on the students goals in a relaxed atmosphere. As well as teaching guitar lessons Jamie has also assisted in educational workshops and given guest lectures to degree level students at the Leeds College of Music. Jamie is also a registerd guitar teacher with the R.G.T in conjunction with the London College of Music.<br />

Besides teaching, Jamie maintains a busy performing schedule and has performed with leading jazz and blues musicians such as Adrian Ingram, Jim Mullen, Pat McCarthy, Ian Rose, and Alex Eden to name a few. Jamie has performed and headlined at venues such as Seven Arts, Grimsby Jazz Club, The Sela Bar and the BBC Venue and has participated in tours and gigs spanning a wide array of musical genres.<br />
<br />
Although he performs in many different groups, Jamie’s main outlets are The Quarry Hill Hot Club; a gypsy jazz-esc swing band inspired by Stephane Grappelli’s later recordings with Marin Taylor and the Jamie Holroyd Duo; a guitar duo performing quirky and harmonized arrangements of pop songs, bop, and Django tunes.<br />
<br />
In April 2012 Jamie launched Jamie Holroyd Guitar, an online teaching website aimed at providing high quality jazz guitar lessons. Jamie Holroyd Guitar is visited by 1000&#8242;s of students from over 60 different countries on a monthly basis. A keen author, Jamie released his first guitar instructional ebook which received almost 200 downloads in the first month of release and his second book is due to be published later this year.<br />

Besides writing for his own website Jamie has also contributed lesson articles and reviews to, Guitar International, Matt Warnock Guitar, Sam Smiley Music,, Huddersfield Jazz Guitar Society, Leeds College of Music Student Union and has been featured on the front of Guitar International Magazine.
