Biography
Matyas Houf first appeared as a recorder player as an actor and musician in “Malé Vinohradské divadlo” theatre under the leadership of Václav Martinec in 2008. He has since performed with ensembles such as Musica Bohemica under the leadership of Jaroslav Krcek, Talich Philharmonia Prague, La Tempesta or with Czech Ensemble Baroque at the Znojmo Festival. He is a laureate of the Concertino Praga Competition (2015) and he performed as a winner at the Prague Rudolfinum and South Bohemia Festival. In 2016 he performed at the final concert of the Gstaad Baroque Academy in Switzerland. From September 2019 he studies baroque recorder at the Royal College of Music in London with Ashley Solomon. He is an ABRSM scholar, supported by the Henry Wood Accommodation Trust. Matyas is also an engraver, painter and sculptor.
