I studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for seven years, starting violin at 10 years old and achieved my Grade 8 by the time I was 15. Studying at RCS involved participating in orchestras, ensembles, musicianship, theory as well as tuition in Violin and piano. I led the RCS, South Ayrshire Junior, South Ayrshire Sinfonia and Belmont Academy orchestras. These leadership roles require dedication, commitment, good communication skills and the ability to inspire people. I have had to work with many ages of musicians and learn how to help younger instrumentalists to play in orchestral scenarios. I have also had key positions in the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland and was selected at just eleven years old for the West of Scotland Schools Orchestra. Being in an orchestra and travelling to different countries to perform at a high standard has shown me working hard is the key to achieving your goals, which is something I want to convey to my pupils. The skills my career in music has instilled in me has led to my success in both my academic life and social life and I want to help more people find a passion for music.
