Biography
Ros is a violinist, teacher and composer. She has been teaching the violin for over 15 years, both privately and in schools, and enjoys working with students of all ages and experience. Ros is currently writing a series of violin method books for adult beginners for Oxford University Press. She recently recorded the violin parts for the new edition of the popular "Fiddle Time" violin teaching publications, published by Oxford University Press.
As a performer Ros has appeared on BBC television and radio (including BBC Strictly Come Dancing, Zingzillas, Radio 3), in West End Theatre and at leading concert venues and theatres in the UK and Europe. She leads the Sigamos String Quartet, with whom she has recorded several critically acclaimed albums, and is a founder member of the tango ensemble Tango Siempre. She recently co-created the musical score to the hit West End show “Midnight Tango”. She is the author of numerous music education books including the “Globetrotters” series published by Oxford University Press, which won the 2011 MIA award for best educational publication, and “Argentinian Tango and Folk Tunes" books for violin, flute and accordion, published by Schott Music Ltd. Several of Ros’s compositions have been included in the ABRSM exam syllabus.
