Born into a musical family, my father played accordian, my brother percussion and my nephew is currently Director of the Dun Laoghaire College of Music, Dublin.

I was introduced to music around the age of 8 when I had music lessons from a local bandmaster Eddie Cody, later going on to study under Richard Ingham at Rotherham College where I gained a Licentiate at Trinity College of Music in London.

Having studied Jazz Technology & Theory at Leeds College of Music with John Legrand & Simon Kaylor M.B.E. (Jazz) I have a diverse experience of all types of music. This covers playing & singing in jazz bands, rock & roll, military bands, dance & big band sets, saxophone ensembles. My claim to fame is touring with Tony Christie and 3 years backing Joe Cocker. I also spent five years teaching as Head of Woodwind at Rotherham College. I also have 20yrs private teaching experience & performing.
