Notes:
Professional singer since 1984, I began teaching in 1998 after my initial advertisement in a local paper: "If you've always wanted to sing but were told to 'SHUT UP' then give me a ring!" This revealed a world of people desperate to sing but never finding the confidence. Thus I continue to teach those who considered themselves to be 'beginners'. Many of my students have very successfully taken ABRSM and LCM exams in Classical, Music Theatre and Pop Vocals, with the majority gaining Distinctions. Some students continue their musical skills at University or become professional performers and teachers themselves.
I am a member of Association of Teachers of Singers(AOTOS)and BVA which offers regular refresher courses to self-employed tutors, thus I attempt to keep my teaching skills updated.
I am CRB checked, a member of Equity and MU.
Since 1999 I run a Ladies Choir, for those who 'think' they can't sing! We have loads of fun and our audiences keep coming back for more! La La Ladies meet in Streetly every Thursday pm.
I have, or continue to record professionally for several record companies, teach for a theatre school, Secondary School and lead a young persons' harmony vocal group.
I believe in the holistic benefit of singing.
I continue to provide Healthy Singing sessions for people with Dementia and other life changing issues and adapt the approach according to each need.
