Biography

Emma Trounson is a professional choral conductor, soprano, viola player and singing/instrumental teacher.

She read for a BA(hons) in Music and French at the University of Bristol and graduated in 2010. She held the conductorship of the Bristol University Chamber Choir in her final year touring with them to the Czech Republic and performing in St George’s Concert Hall in Bristol with the Chamber Orchestra. During her Erasmus year she studied Performing Arts at Bordeaux University and served as an international intern at the Bordeaux Conservatoire in the junior choral department (2008/09), meanwhile assisting the director of the Jeune Academie Vocale d’Aquitaine.

Emma graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in June 2012 with an MA in Choral Conducting.She currently works as a Choral Director for Leicester Cathedral, where she teaches singing to classes of primary school children in North Leicestershire and directs the Loughborough Children’s Choir. She teaches singing at Stoneygate School, Leicester. Emma is also the Musical Director of St Cecilia Singers, Northamptonshire, Fosse Singers, Leicester and Semper Singers, Leicester.

Offering a bespoke service for a competitive price, Emma's aim is to share her passion for Music and to teach in a fun and relaxed way which gets results. She can teach at her house or can come to you with (a keyboard) by car for a small contribution towards travel.
