A graduate of the University of Wales, a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music, a Licentiate of the London College of Music and a Licentiate of the Trinity College London, John Hywel Williams has always held strong beliefs in the international language of music and the sharing of musical cultures.

It is this strong philosophy that has seen John Hywel Williams drive the development of numerous choirs and pioneer the export of Welsh choral singing around the world with countless national and international performances, television and radio broadcasts and interviews.

John Hywel Williams took the courageous steps of taking the very first British choir travelling behind the Iron Curtain of Eastern Europe in the earlier years of the Cold War and the first British amateur choir to undertake a concert tour of Moscow. His choral achievements have also been the subject of an international television documentary
broadcast in 160 countries around the world and complemented by 23 international concert tours at leading cities and concert venues around the world.

Memorable performances are too numerous to mention but would include a BBC recorded performance at Russiaís largest and premier concert hall namely the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire, the Arad Opera House in Romania, an audience with His Holy Father Pope John Paul II at The Vatican to an audience of over 40,000 people, The House of Artists in Prague, The Brangwyn Festival in Ostende, the prestigious Prague Spring Festival, The Russian House of Friendship Moscow, the magnificent Waldstein Gardens Prague, St. Paulís Cathedral London Ontario, the Cesar Franck Festival Bruges, performances for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, representing Great Britain at the Joy of Europe Festival in Yugoslavia, the Castle Pomeranian Princes Poland, the CN Tower Toronto, St. Davidís Hall Cardiff, the Royal Festival Hall London and repeated performances at the Royal Albert Hall LondonÖ to name but a few.

In recognition of his achievements and services to music, John Hywel Williams was awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and also a Fellowship of Rotary International.
