Notes:
I have over 25 years of experience teaching A Level Music and Theory (including preparing students for Grade 5 theory within one year, in some cases, from scratch). I believe that developing knowledge and understanding of theory empowers musicians to enjoy their practical music-making even more and have developed ways of helping students to discover the delights of this knowledge and learn quickly.
During my college teaching career, I have helped many students to prepare for aural assessments for graded practical exams as well as for A Level Music listening tests.
I also teach piano, with an aim to encourage enjoyment of playing and confidence with the instrument and reading notation.
I offer private tutoring to support students completing GCSE and A Level in Music.
