Notes:
I am a professional full-time working orchestral musician and teacher, working in Dorset since 2012, after returning from 5 years in an orchestral job in Lisbon.
I began my musical education with piano lessons from the age of 3 and although I reached college level standard on the piano, I eventually chose to study the oboe at the Royal College of Music and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I now play regularly with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and many other national and local orchestras
I am an experienced performer and teacher of both the piano and oboe and can teach solo performance on either instrument or prepare pupils for an orchestral career. I am also an experienced chamber musician and would welcome ensemble teaching/playing.
All ages and abilities welcomed - happy to teach absolute beginners through all grades to Diploma/Music college level, but also just for fun! I try to make lessons a positive, interesting and enjoyable experience!
I teach music theory alongside practical performance but can also provide specialist lessons.
I encourage public and group performances whenever possible and arrange annual concerts to give pupils the opportunity to perform - if they want to!
I teach from home in the Christchurch area.
I offer flexible day time teaching hours to suit the self employed and shift workers.
