Completed Educare child protection training course. (more)
Keeping Children Safe in Music is the latest in the EduCare's series of distance learning courses on child protection. The training programme uses short films to show a variety of good and bad practice examples, which will be available to watch online. It will help anyone teaching music to children gain a better understanding of their child protection responsibilities, and avoid situations that could lead to accusations of misconduct.

IMPORTANT NOTICE (01/2021): Owing to the ongoing pandemic, private lessons are being taught remotely via Zoom.

I love helping invested people, ages 5 and upwards, on their voyages of discovery to what music means to them and thrive on learning from my students. Learning about music is more than just learning how to read notation and play an instrument; it is also a path to reinforcing life skills, embracing lifelong learning, and exploring who we are as individuals. With my 10+ years of teaching experience – teaching privately and for schools and my local music service – I offer music tuition that embraces the needs of students and promotes the development of independent learning.

Many of my students typically take one Practical and one Theory exam per academic year when ready, though I fully respect and understand that some students prefer not to take exams at all. In regards to music examinations, I enter students for Practical and Theory exams through Trinity, ABRSM, Rockschool, and Rock&Pop with student-exam results reflective of the student’s and my hard work.

STUDIO LESSONS [CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE OWING TO COVID-19]: I teach pupils at my home where I have access to various resources, e.g. music books and the internet, that may be used to enhance a pupil's learning.

HOME SERVICE [CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE]: Home service (i.e. lessons given at a pupil's home) is an option, but lesson fees are subject to varying additional costs to cover travel expenses and travel time (-to and from a pupil's home). Please do not hesitate to contact me for a quote and lesson fee breakdown.

ONLINE LESSONS [from 1/9/20]: Brought forward as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, I now offer private lessons remotely using Zoom. This allows learners to learn from the comfort of their own home. It is recommended that students have access to reliable internet and the use of a laptop with a working webcam and microphone, though iPads and tablets are also acceptable.

Lessons are, by default, 45 minutes long, however shorter lessons, i.e. 30-minute lessons, are available for young students (i.e. age 5-6, or Years 1 and 2).

Enhanced DBS certificate is available on request.

30min-lesson = £20
45min-lesson = £27 (My standard lesson)
60min-lesson = £34
