Miss Susan Hodgson

Qualifications:
Grade 8 violin
Grade 8 viola
Grade 5 theory with distinction
Grade 3 singing
Instruments: Violin
Viola
Ability Levels: Beginners to Intermediate

Notes:

I began learning the violin whilst at primary school when I was around 8 years old before transferring to the viola. I continued to study both instruments before taking both Grade 8 exams before leaving secondary school.

During my studies I was a member of three Orchestras including Sale Chamber Orchestra in which I played the voila due to the higher demand for these instruments.

I have trained to be a lawyer in Manchester city centre however I am looking to diversify into teaching beginners/intermediate violin and viola on a part-time basis with a view to teaching full time.

I am available to either teach the violin or viola purely for fun and also to progress via the grades, dependant upon the learners wishes. I am also available to teach any ages.

I would hope that my lessons would be both fun and informative with a relaxed atmosphere. During the learning process I would also encourage the learning of peices familiar to those learning, both classical and modern, to ensure they remain interested and enthusiastic.

I would happily teach music theory to Grade 5 standard.

With regards the locations, I would prefer to visit my pupils at their homes and I am willing to travel to Sale, Altrincham, Hale, Mobberley and Knutsford. I intend teaching lessons during the evenings and on weekends to begin with.

Please don't hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.
