I believe that the study of music in particular builds the awareness that is critical to all learning. More than an end in and of itself, music is a means to creating the connections that enrich our lives. My thorough understanding of musical concepts and conscientious preparation for lessons enable animate and spontaneous interaction with students of any age and background. Please call me if interested; I would love to meet with you to discuss your aspirations!

My experience ranges from music-specific to cross-arts. I have played the cello and sung, trained in the Suzuki Method and studied for the LRAM diploma to better my private teaching practice. Rewarding interdisciplinary experiences have included the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts, which fostered in particular improvisation and composition in collaboration with artists of other means, and the FreshInc. Festival, which included performances of new music for varied chamber combinations, artistic entrepreneurship training, and innovative outreach and educational presentations.

Most recently, I led the collaboration 'LigetiLines', to choreograph the Ligeti Solo Cello Sonata for cello and two dancers: The project explored the relationships between the music (canonic and newly-composed), visual art, and dance. I am excited to share these resultant perspectives with diligent and receptive students.
