I have been playing guitar for 15 years and teaching for 2 years to adults and children of school age and thoroughly enjoy it. Teaching guitar is a great way for me to help students achieve their own personnel goals in music. I feel an enormous amount of self-satisfaction and a sense achievement when I witness the improvements of students I teach.

I enjoy putting together work sheets for students to learn from, as they can take this home, use them to practice with or use the information to work out their own favourite songs. The work sheets show a student the fundamental information needed to start playing the guitar through to exercises that will improve their technical ability to a higher level. I think itís important to break down a complex song, scale or chord to its basic structure when teaching a beginner as this provides a good foundation to develop on.

I am aware that some students are more advanced then others and I can create more complex and challenging work sheets to support them. I am also aware that students can have a different learning process, for example, some students find it better to learn through visual aid and others through reading. The guitar lessons I teach work in both forms. I hand out work sheets and then demonstrate through playing the presented information on my guitar and then explain how it relates to the written piece.

Working in a recording studio environment has helped me understand a lot about how to record music. Recording music in a professional studio can be fun, rewarding, and strangely addictive. Itís important for guitar players to start recording at some point in their musical journey as it helps them hear what they are really like.

I have been involved with many studio recordings which include the student end of year albums for Chichester College and The Brighton Institute of Modern Music.

I am a regualar performer, therfore have experience in live performing.
