Notes:

I am a professional oboist living and working in London. I have a passion for teaching music as it is invaluable in developing children's confidence, listening and social skills.

The oboe and bassoon are becoming very rare at school and music college level and the provision of lessons in schools in London are particularly lacking. There are so many more opportunities that learning a double reed instrument can open up, within schools, ensembles and summer courses (often with bursaries attached!) The oboe and mini-bassoon are extremely accessible instruments for children to learn and are very rewarding as early progress is much quicker than other instruments. There are many options for lighter-weight, smaller instruments for younger children to find more comfortable.

In July 2015 I graduated from the Royal College of Music, with a Masters degree in oboe and cor anglais performance.

I currently teach the oboe, bassoon (including mini-bassoon), flute and recorder for the Tri-borough Music Hub, Wandsworth Schools Music, Barrow Hill Junior School and the Royal Hospital School, Ipswich.

I teach oboe, mini-bassoon and flute to children from the age of 7/8, and recorder from 5/6 years old.

I have also taught the oboe privately for a number of years.

I have an up to date DBS and can get hold of references from current employers.

I also sell my pupils hand-made oboe reeds so there is no need to go back and forth into central London every time one breaks!
