Biography

Luke is a freelance percussionist, drummer and timpanist based in London. He regularly plays for some of the country’s finest ensembles including the Philharmonia Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. He’s performed with many world-class conductors including: Andris Nelsons, Sir Mark Elder and Marin Alsop. He has also worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

He graduated with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music with an MA in Orchestral Percussion & Timpani, having already gained a 1st class BMus (Hons) from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

As a drummer, he’s played on many theatre shows across the West Midlands, as well as in the Royal Academy of Music’s production of ‘The Wild Party’.

Luke is also a keen educator, teaching students of all ages and abilities. He holds visiting music teacher posts at Bancroft's School in London and at Ipswich School in Suffolk.
