Stuart MacIntyre received his initial training at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. His postgraduate studies were at the Banff Centre in Canada and as a Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Scholar at the Royal College of Music. He has appeared with many renowned orchestras, including the Russian National Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Academy of Ancient Music, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia, BBC Philharmonic and the English Concert. The many distinguished conductors he has appeared with have included Sir Colin Davis, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Richard Hickox, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Jean-Bernard Pommier, Sir Andrew Davis and Franz Welser-Moest.
Stuart has recorded for the Harmonia Mundi USA, Capriccio, Chandos and EMI labels among others and broadcasts frequently for the BBC. He is a Principal Study Tutor at the Royal Northern College of Music and is Visiting Singing Tutor to Lichfield Cathedral, several University of Cambridge colleges, Eton College and on the annual Eton Choral Courses.
