Notes:

As a community musician, I have a wide range of experience working with all age ranges and abilities. This has ensured I have a flexible approach to teaching, prioritising the needs of the pupil and giving them a voice in their learning.

I am familiar with the ABRSM and SQA curriculums, and am happy for pupils to pursue examinations if they so wish, but this is absolutely optional. I actively encourage participation in ensembles, as group music-making can enhance not only musical skills, but social and emotional development also.

As a volunteer with a music education organisation, I undergo yearly child protection training, and keep up to date with the legislation.

I appreciate that the current COVID-19 pandemic may mean that more teaching is done online, but I understand the value of face-to-face interaction and embrace any opportunity to meet socially distanced.
