Biography
I am a highly experienced teacher who has taught students at beginner to postgraduate level across UK institutions, as well as privately. Pupils of all ages are welcome: I have a wealth of experience in guiding young and adult beginners. I particularly have an interest in technical development, with my previous teachers having connections to Liszt and Beethoven, as well as the great Russian traditions. Above all, I aim to make lessons fun, but at the same time, instil a musical understanding.
I am a professional concert pianist, who gained a PhD in Performance Studies at the University of Sheffield with Benjamin Frith and Peter Hill. I previously studied with Jana Frenklova at the University of Wales, Bangor, where I gained the highest mark in twenty years of degree recitals. I have a broad range of repertoire, ranging from Bach to Messiaen.
