Daniel Lappin is a graduate in BA (Hons) Classical Music at Leeds College of Music - A leading European Conservatoire, under tutorage of Dr Martyn Shaw.

Before attending Leeds College of Music (LCoM) Daniel previously studied with Brian Stewart at the Centre For Advanced training (CAT) in Sage Gateshead. The CAT is a young musicians programme that Daniel attended since the age of 12. The CAT is based on training the best young musicians of the UK, many members of the CAT have gone onto study at various conservatoires and begin hugely successful musical careers. Daniel also studied with many members of Royal Northern Sinfonia including, Eilidh Gillespie, Marion Craig and James Craig including a yearly Masterclass with Principal flautist Julliet Bausor, who has now recently been appointed Principal flautist of London Philharmonic. Daniel has also been awarded first place in the Mrs Sunderland Festival - open woodwind class, and was subsequently invited back to perform in a concert at Huddersfield Town Hall.

Daniel is currently principal flute of Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra.

Daniel has performed with many musicians and ensembles which includes, performances at Sage Gateshead, the Lit and Phil Newcastle, Sunderland Minster, Helmsley Arts Centre, Leeds Minster, Temple Newsam Leeds in collaboration with Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Leeds Light Night, Orchestral tour of Germany, Music Moves Ensemble Chapel FM Broadcast Live on radio and video stream, Music Moves Ensemble TV appearance on Made in Leeds. Daniel has also worked with some of the best musicians in the country including conductor Natalia Luis-Bassa.

Daniel is a recipient of the Wolfson Foundation scholarship and EMI Music Sound Foundation.

Tutoring Experience:
Daniel has vast experience in teaching, both 1:1 lessons and small group lessons, through private teaching and within a music school.

Daniel studied the approach to music tuition whilst at LCoM which allowed Daniel to understand different teaching techniques that may be required whilst also conducting his own lessons.

Daniel is dedicated to teaching music and will provide fun and well prepared lessons to make sure that you learn everything properly.

Whether you want to do exams or learn for fun, all ages are welcome and you are free to go at your own pace.
