I am an energetic music teacher, fully immersed in toady's music education world. I teach music to children at nursery and primary school age and have extensive experience teaching in both private and state primary and secondary schools in England and Scotland.
I am keen to encouraging an open-minded attitude to learning new styles of music and to improvising with music. I believe in the importance of enjoying making music above simply learning technical skills on an instrument. We should acquire musical knowledge according to our tastes in music and what we want to do with music. Consequently, I offer lively (and very musical!) lessons for those wanting to learn the violin, viola or piano, to those interested in playing any style of music -- with or without exams. I am also available for music theory tuition (up to an advanced level) and guidance in G.C.S.E. and A-Level music.
I formerly studied violin at the Royal Academy of Music in London and have extensive experience in orchestral playing and chamber music and have branched out beyond the confines of the classical world on many occasions.
