Biography

Louise Turner (soprano) graduated from Royal Holloway University of London as a Bachelor of Music in 1993. Since that time she has combined a singing career with teaching. She has sung with several opera companies in the UK and she toured the USA in 68 performances of Carmen. Roles include Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Valencienne (The Merry Widow), Frasquita (Carmen), Papagena (The Magic Flute), Maria (West Side Story) and Cherubino (The Marriage of Figaro). As a soloist, Louise has sung with various orchestras in the UK, performing Bach’s St Matthew’s Passion and Christmas Oratorio, Faure’s Requiem, Handel’s Gloria, Haydn’s The Creation and Nelson Mass, Jenkins' The Armed Man, De Lalande's De Profundis, Praetorius' Christmas Mass, Ravel's Sheherazade, Brahms' Requiem, Strauss' Orchestral Songs and Mahler’s Symphonies No.2 and No. 4. She also appears regularly in recitals for music societies and festivals across the UK and in Europe. Louise is also the soprano soloist with Serenata, an ensemble consisting of soprano, oboe, harpsichord and 'cello. She has made two recordings with Serenata and has also recorded The Armed Man.
