Julian Pombo is a Glasgow based bass player, flute player, composer and songwriter. He began playing the bass guitar and flute shortly after moving to Scotland from Argentina when he was young. He is a graduate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he studied bass under Mario Caribe. During his time at the Conservatoire he has played with prestigious musicians including Paul Towndrow, Tommy Smith, Alyn Cosker, Laurence Cottle and Kevin MacKenzie. Julian is a very versatile player: as well as playing Jazz he has played in pit bands for musicals and is familiar with many styles including pop, rock, heavy metal, traditional music and classical. He has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and Pavilion Theatre, and festivals including Eden, Bute Fest and Mull of Kintyre music festival.
